 The Consultative School Board

 
Board Elections are held each year in May.  The St. Bruno Consultative School Board is an advisory body supporting educational facilities at St. Bruno Catholic School, and is subject to such regulations that might proceed from the Ordinary of the Diocese and/or Diocesan Board of Education.
 
The scope of this board is limited to the parish school.  The duties of the board members are as follows:
 
  • To be kept apprised of and receive clarification on overall educational needs.
  • To advise on policy-making relating to the planning operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment, with adequate consultation
  • To act as a liason body with WASC as needed.
  • To review tutition rates and fundraising policies based on information provided from the proposed budget.
  • To establish committees on a standing or an ad hoc basis according to need.
  • To support all major fundraiser and school events.
 
The requirements for candidacy are:
 
  1. You must have a child or children registered in grades K through 5 for the current school year.
  2. You must be a practicing Catholic.
  3. You must commit to attending monthly meetings which are held on one Monday each month.
 
In addition to board members, the board consists of four officers, including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and a pastoral appointee.
 
If you are interested in serving on the Advisory Board, watch for the announcement in the school newletter and submit a short article with photograph, no later than the date specified in the newsletter announcement.  Send article to Ms. Porter in the school office, giving some personal background and stating why you would like to serve.  All candidate information will be published in the school newsletter prior to election day.
